Malaga Costa del Sol airport first opened in 1919 and has since gone through many changes mainly because the numbers of passengers and destinations have increased enormously.

Terminal 3 was opened in March 2010 by King Juan Carlos. It’s made of mostly steel and glass it is a much classier, shinier, brighter place for Spanish homeowners and tourists to travel to and from.
Malaga Costa del Sol airport is surrounded by car parks, official and unofficial. Surrounding the airport are a vast selection of long term parking companies. These are places where you drop off your car, you get chauffeured to the airport, and when you are back, they will pick up up again.
These places are fantastic and incredible cheap. Some charge less than 3€ per day and will clean your car included in the price.
Your car usually stays in the car company’s warehouse and is safe and secure while you are away.
If you are a Spanish homeowner then it’s likely you will own your car. However, if you are visiting the area with a view to buying a new property in Spain, a car will make it much easier for you to view explore areas more hassle-free. The lower floor of the main airport car park is home to the car hire companies.
